INDONESIAN YOUTH PLEDGE ACTION:  “FIGHT THE MASSACRE IN PALESTINE”

Jakarta, 28 October 2023

The ongoing massacre in Palestine in the last three weeks by Zionist Israel has claimed the lives of more than 7,000 civilians.  Slow humanitarian handling and the deadlock of international political diplomacy due to intervention by America and, western countries will cause Palestinian suffering to increase and be prolonged.  Even the UN Resolution for a ceasefire was vetoed by the United States.

The Indonesian government has emphasized in various international forums and the UN, that the root of the problem of this misery is the Israeli Zionist colonization of Palestine, and the war must be stopped.  So today we stand to support the efforts of the Indonesian Government, as children of the nation, to implement the Constitution UUD 45 to demand the freedom of an independent Palestine.  For 75 years the Palestinian people have been expelled from their homeland, their property destroyed, their holy places insulted, blockaded, killed, and massacred by the Israeli Zionist invaders.

Colonization as the root of the problem of a nation's suffering was also felt by Indonesian youth who gathered on October 28 1928 to declare the youth oath.  The oath which eventually became a snowball in the struggle against colonialism at that time finally resulted in Indonesian independence.

At the momentum of today's commemoration of the Youth Pledge on October 28, 2023, the Indonesian people again feel the enthusiasm to fight colonialism seeing the sacrifice and suffering of the Palestinian people who were massacred.  Today's crimes by Israel and its supporting countries have revived Indonesian youth to vow to fight for the realization of independence, sovereignty, humanity, and justice for the Palestinian people.

So today in front of the United States Embassy, ​​which is the main supporter of Zionist Israel, witnessed by millions of Indonesians and the world, we Indonesian Youth declare the 2023 Indonesian Youth Pledge Manifesto for Palestine:

 1. We, Indonesian Youth, support Palestinian independence.

 2. We, Indonesian Youth, are fighting for Palestinian sovereignty.

 3. We, Indonesian Youth, demand justice for Palestine.

 4. We, Indonesian Youth, glorify the humanity of the Palestinian people
